79: Menopause 101 with Dr Shashi Prasad

Do you have questions about perimenopause?

In today's very special launch episode of the brand new series, airing on World Menopause Day, I'm delighted to welcome to the show Dr Shashi Prasad.

Dr Shashi Prasad is an experienced GP, British Medical Society accredited Advanced Menopause Specialist, a member of the British and International Menopause Societies, and a certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician. She is passionate about providing evidence-based menopause care and combines Hormone Replacement Therapy with Lifestyle Modifications to help transform the lives of her clients, balance their hormones and make them feel like their best selves.

Now, you might be wondering why this topic is related to happiness habits, but it's a topic that's very close to my heart because during the height of the Covid pandemic I started experiencing perimenopause symptoms myself. Not knowing why I was feeling the way I did, I started to spiral downwards - I'm sure that if I'd known more about perimenopause and menopause at the time I would have put two and two together more quickly than I did.

Thankfully there is more awareness about this natural but often challenging season of our lives now, and because I'm still a huge believer in us sharing our own stories to help others, I've written a brand new chapter about my experiences for the second edition of my book The Happiness Habits Transformation which I'm excited to share is coming out next year.

Dr Shashi contributed to this chapter and I'm delighted to welcome her to the show today for what I'm hoping will be a sort of Perimenopause 101, answering some of the questions that I had when I started this journey in the hope that it helps you with yours.

Now, while you're listening today, think about how you can take what you learn and put it into practice. Take action in any way that's meaningful for you.

And hey, if you DID like this episode, please head over to iTunes and leave me a comment and review or share it on social media. It really does help others to find the show. And do feel free to connect with me @michellereeveswrites on Instagram too, let me know what you've learned from this episode so we can continue the conversation.
