2024 writing goals & book launch update

The wind is whistling around the barn as I type this but at least it's a bit warmer here in the UK. Hope you've been staying safe and warm wherever you are! I thought I’d share some of my writing goals and plans, plus I have some very exciting news about my new book release…

My 2024 Goals

Last year was a big one for me as I made the pivot from traditional publishing to self-publishing. Phew, was it a steep learning curve, but so rewarding and I now have a whole new set of skills plus full creative control over my work again.

Towards the end of the 2023, I also decided to shift my focus away from non-fiction and podcasting, to publish the Rescue Quest series that I’ve been writing for my son, a devout gamer, who struggles to find books that interest him. My website has already had a makeover with a new homepage and new brand colours, so my main goal for 2024 is to publish books 1-3 of the series. The third book might be a bit of a stretch but I’m gonna push for it!

My personal goals are to prioritise rest and my health (using my daily Happiness Habits of course), enjoy date days with my husband, hang out with my kids and spend precious time with my mum who turns 90 this year. We moved her closer to us last year and I'm so grateful for the memories we're already making.

I’d love to hear about your goals for the year - hit the comments and let me know what's on your list?

Rescue Quest Update

I’m thrilled to announce that Rescue Quest Book One will be officially launching on Tues 6th February!

It will be available in paperback and ebook from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, Apple Books and more. Plus there will be book bonuses including computer and phone wallpapers, a bonus chapter and resources for teachers and book groups.
A huge thank you to everyone who voted on the cover design - I love your choice and can't wait for the proof copy to arrive this week. I'll probably do a video on social media when it arrives if you're interested! And as always, thank you for following along on my author journey.

Books I've been enjoying
Beneath The Zoo by JF Penn is a spooky short story that I downloaded from her website over Christmas and read in one sitting! Not one for the feint-hearted or if you hate spiders though (eek). You can buy it here.
Book 4 of Brian Hoadley's Old Blood Saga didn't disappoint. This epic fantasy series surrounding an ancient order of magic weavers, vampires and demons keeps getting better. I'll be on tender hooks until book 5 comes out! You can see all the books here.
For my writing craft I've been savouring the fabulous Wonderbook by Jeff Vandermeer which is a Christmas gift. It's a gorgeous book with incredible images. It's on Amazon here.

What's on your TBR list at the moment?

Here's to an amazing 2024 full of writing and, of course, reading!
